QUANTUM KEY WEST DAY 4

QUANTUM KEY WEST DAY 4

The penultimate day of racing at Quantum Key West Race Week was another spectacular day for all the 150-odd boats racing in this season opener off the Florida Keys.

With up to 20 knots of wind in the first race of the day, the Farr 400 class was dominated by Sled Shelhorse’s Meridian X in the opening beat but Chessie Racing managed to close in and take the lead in the closing stages of the race.

The second race of the day again showed how tight racing is in this One Design class with Santa (Claus Landmark) and Chessie Racing (George Collins) in a match race to the finish with Collins finishing five seconds in front of the Norwegian boat.

Tomorrow, Friday, sees the last day of racing and Chessie Racing with six wins and two thirds looks set to win the Farr 400 title for the event and finish in third place in the HPR class.
